Following the success of the Vision 26 family fun day at Eden Court in August 2025, the Highland Integrated Children’s Service Planning Board is planning a series of roadshows.
The first roadshow takes place in Wick on Friday 28 November 2025.
Ian Kyle, Chair of the Highland Integrated Children’s Service Planning Board said: “The aim of these roadshows is to raise awareness of local support networks and initiatives for families in the Highlands including The Promise, the Whole Family Wellbeing Programme, and the Child Protection Committee.
“Our Vision 26 family fun day in August was a hugely successful partnership event with more than 800 children coming along on the day. In response to positive feedback from this event, I’m delighted that we’re now able to take the event on the road to allow even more families with young children to come along. The event is part of our ambitious plan to strengthen links across our communities and provide much-needed support for families throughout the Highlands.”
The first roadshow will take place at the Pulteneytown People’s Project (PPP) in Wick on Friday 28 November 2025 from 10am to 2.30pm. The event offers practitioners a valuable opportunity to network in the morning from 10am – 12.30pm, with families and children invited to a fun family-friendly session in the afternoon.
A second roadshow will take place at the Nevis Centre in Lochaber on Friday 23 January 2026 with further events to be confirmed for later in the year.
Highland’s three-year Children’s Services Plan was launched in 2023 in collaboration with public sector bodies and third sector organisations to support children, young people and families with commitments in six key areas – poverty, child protection, corporate parenting, drugs and alcohol, health and wellbeing, and children’s rights and participation.
