‘Energy efficient retail units undergone significant refurbishment’

The Highland Council Service Point and the former Edinburgh Woollen Mill and has undergone a major transformation and refurbishment. The units are situated in a prime position in Dingwall High Street, and the new layout will be attractive to a number of businesses. 

The refurbishment work has been undertaken by Graham MacGregor Joinery & Building Contractor.  The significant investment in the property has created three new retail units which are all available for lease. The properties have strong energy credentials and now benefit from an EPC rating A.  Rental starts at £8,000 per annum and it is anticipated that due to the size of the units’ tenants may be eligible for Small Business Rates Relief.

Housing & Property Chair, Cllr Glynis Campbell Sinclair said: “The Highland Council as part of its ‘Highland Investment Plan’ is committed to supporting the regeneration of our High Streets, offering sustainable and energy efficient properties at an affordable rental price point, these three new properties available to lease provide a community asset and will contribute to the great amount of work being delivered to help grow our Highland economy, repurpose our assets, develop and improve the appearance of our High Streets.”

Dingwall and Seaforth Committee Chair, Cllr Graham MacKenzie added: “A number of businesses have vacated the High Street over recent years, I’m sure these new units will help with regeneration and make the heart of the town a bustling centre once more.”

Councillors Graham MacKenzie, Angela MacLean and Sean Kennedy had a recent visit to view the retail units and were very impressed with the significant refurbishment and are looking forward to seeing businesses moving into them soon.
