The Highland Council’s Dingwall and Seaforth Area Committee has agreed a proposed £3.33m programme of road improvements for 2026/27 covering the Ross and Cromarty area. The plans set out a rolling programme of resurfacing and surface-treatment across the area, aimed at improving roads condition, safety, and long-term maintenance.
The programme includes resurfacing, surface dressing, and inlay works on a range of local and strategic routes, with schemes prioritised using condition survey data, safety inspections and feedback from communities. Once approved, the list will guide multi-year investment, with work carried out by Council teams and specialist contractors.
Because the final budget will not be confirmed until the Highland Council’s Economy and Infrastructure Committee meets in February, the programme may still be updated once final allocations and new road condition survey results are available.
Vice Chair of the Dingwall and Seaforth Area Committee, Margaret Paterson said: “This programme represents a significant investment in maintaining and improving our roads across Dingwall and Seaforth. We know how important road condition is to residents, businesses and visitors, and these works will help improve safety, resilience and travel across the area. I’d like to thank communities for their ongoing feedback, which plays an important part in shaping the priorities each year.”
