Members of Sutherland County Committee have today approved £47,043.65 of Community Regeneration Funding in support of three community projects in the region.
£9415 of funding was approved for a Travelling Imaginarium creative and cultural outreach programme which will run across five remote and rural communities in Achiltibuie, Kinlochbervie, Coigach, Ullapool and Garve.
£29,378.65 was awarded to Lochview Rural Training to construct a new multi-use building for the teaching and support of young people, and £8250 was approved for the Durness and Kinlochbervie Angling Club to replace the Oldshoremore Beach steps for improved and safer access.
Chair of the Sutherland County Committee, Councillor Richard Gale, said: “Community Regeneration Funding supports key projects in our communities, and I am delighted that we can support three positive, community-led projects that reflect the priorities of local people of all ages. Each project will make a real difference with improved facilities and rural outreach and I look forward to seeing the progress our communities can make with these investments.”
