Leader of the Highland Council responds to Scottish Government Budget announcement

Councillor Raymond Bremner, Leader of The Highland Council, commented on this week's Scottish Government Budget announcement:

“Our officials will carefully review the detail of the Scottish Government’s settlement figures over the coming days. This will allow us to fully understand what the settlement means for The Highland Council and reflect in our budget planning for the coming financial years.”

“We also await further detail of the proposals referenced within the announcement, specifically around £7.6bn investment in infrastructure projects like roads and buildings, including a further £200m for the dualling of the A9.  Proposals on a boost to the weekly Scottish Child Payment for babies under the age of one and plans for breakfast clubs for all primary-age children will also be welcomed locally.”
