Poll letters go out to households across Highland

Issued on behalf of the Constituency and Regional Returning Officer

Households across Highland will start to receive their poll letters from this week onwards for the Scottish Parliament Election on 7 May 2026.

The poll letters provide voters with details of their polling station and voting arrangements.  While voters do not need to bring their poll letter to vote, it can help staff locate them more quickly on the electoral register.

If you’ve received a poll letter you don’t need to register to vote unless your circumstances have changed.  If you need more information, please contact the Electoral Registration Office on 0800 393 783.

The Electoral Commission will be delivering booklets to every household in Scotland and more information about how to register to vote or apply for a postal or proxy vote is available on the Highland Council’s website

Lists of candidates standing will be announced in the Notice of Poll which will be published after 4pm on Wednesday 1 April 2026 on the Council’s website
