Members of the Badenoch and Strathspey Committee have today awarded £60,242 of Community Regeneration Funding to the Newtonmore Village Hall project.
The funding will support ongoing major upgrades of the hall with the installation of a modern, energy-efficient heat pump system that will provide a low-carbon and reliable heating system.
The new heating system is key to the first phase of the hall’s regeneration project which aims to modernise the building whilst improving energy efficiency, reducing carbon emissions and creating a welcoming, warm and comfortable space for the community.
Community Regeneration Funding is an umbrella term for several funds that are available for communities and organisations to access in Highland. The Fund is designed to support economic regeneration and sustainable development in Highland.
