Update on new lower fares

Air Charter Scotland – operator of the lifeline public service obligation (PSO) air service connecting Wick and Aberdeen – has announced revised fares designed to make travelling even simpler and more accessible for passengers

In response to customer feedback, passengers will benefit from lower fares across all ticket types, the introduction of new return rates and discounted travel for children.

Key changes from 1 June 2026 include:

  • Standard one-way flights reduced to £79.99
  • Flex one-way flights reduced to £109.99
  • Introduction of return fares, with standard return priced at £149.00 and flex return at £199.00
  • Children aged 2-11 receive a 25% discount, with no cap on family size
  • Infants under two continue to fly free of charge

The updated pricing structure has been introduced ahead of the summer holiday season and is intended to make travel more straightforward and affordable for families, business travellers and all passengers using the route.

Unlike many commercial air services, fares on the Wick-Aberdeen PSO route include baggage and taxes as standard - meaning passengers pay exactly the advertised price with no hidden extras.

The revised fares come as the service continues to maintain a 98% reliability rate, helping passengers travel with confidence while benefiting from dedicated customer care and personal service.

Flights can be booked online or by phone.

Derek Thomson, Chief Operating Officer of Air Charter Scotland, said: “Passengers consistently tell us they value the reliability, convenience and personal service offered on the Wick-Aberdeen route, and we are always listening to feedback about how we can improve further.

“These changes simplify the fare structure, introduce better value return options and make family travel more affordable, while continuing to provide the high standards of service passengers expect from Air Charter Scotland.

“Importantly, these improvements are being introduced at a time when operating costs across the aviation sector continue to rise significantly.”

Councillor Raymond Bremner, Leader of The Highland Council, added: “I welcome this announcement from Air Charter Scotland, which will be positive news for passengers travelling over the summer period.

“Living locally, I have been encouraged to hear many positive reports about the personal service and strong reliability provided on the route, giving both local residents and visitors confidence when travelling between Wick and Aberdeen.”
