Newmore Primary School in Invergordon has received a very positive report following a recent school inspection.
His Majesty's Inspectorate of Education in Scotland praised the highly respected headteacher Gillian Winter, for the “clear, ambitious vision for the school and community”.
Strong leadership and effective support for all staff is helping to improve the school continuously.
The report found that “children engage well in the consistently high-quality learning and teaching experiences all teachers provide,” and it added: “This is helping them to make good progress in their learning.”
Inspectors also noted: “All staff have a strong focus on developing children’s wellbeing. Working together, all staff have created an inclusive learning environment where children feel valued, cared for and well supported”.
Newmore Primary is delighted with the findings of their encouraging inspection, which is reflective of the school vision statement which reads: “Learn today for a brighter tomorrow and be your best self”.
Headteacher Gillian Winter said: “I am incredibly proud and delighted that the findings recognise the collaborative spirit, dedication and hard work of our staff, pupils and families.”
HMIE awarded the school two ‘very goods’ and two ‘goods’ across the four quality indicators evaluated by the inspectors.
‘Leadership of change’, and ‘Wellbeing, equality and inclusion’ were both rated as ‘very good’.
For ‘raising attainment and achievement’ and for ‘learning, teaching and assessment’, the school was rated as ‘good’.
