Support in place for residents affected by wildfire in Cairngorms National Park

While efforts continue to tackle the wildfire in the Cairngorms National Park, residents are reminded of the support that is in place:

  • The Rest Centre at the MacDonald Aviemore Resort has been stood down today after residents were allowed to return to their properties last night (Saturday 25 July 2026)
  • An information point within Nethy Bridge community centre is available for anyone who needs assistance or advice.
  • The Council’s out of hours team are on standby for emergency housing support and can be contacted on 01349 886691. For more information visit: https://www.highland.gov.uk/emergencies.../contact-emergency
  • Residents in areas affected by smoke from the wildfire are reminded to stay indoors where possible and keep doors and windows closed
  • NHS Highland continue to support vulnerable people and those with care needs. Anyone with health concerns should contact NHS 24 by calling 111.
  • Businesses can also continue to get advice and support from Business Gateway Highland.
