While efforts continue to tackle the wildfire in the Cairngorms National Park, residents are reminded of the support that is in place:
- The Rest Centre at the MacDonald Aviemore Resort has been stood down today after residents were allowed to return to their properties last night (Saturday 25 July 2026)
- An information point within Nethy Bridge community centre is available for anyone who needs assistance or advice.
- The Council’s out of hours team are on standby for emergency housing support and can be contacted on 01349 886691. For more information visit: https://www.highland.gov.uk/emergencies.../contact-emergency
- Residents in areas affected by smoke from the wildfire are reminded to stay indoors where possible and keep doors and windows closed
- NHS Highland continue to support vulnerable people and those with care needs. Anyone with health concerns should contact NHS 24 by calling 111.
- Businesses can also continue to get advice and support from Business Gateway Highland.
