How can you start your fostering journey?
If you are visiting Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival or the Black Isle Show and are thinking about fostering now or in the future – why not pop along and have an informal chat with our staff from Highland Fostering?
Look out for our flag banners and meet our festival friendly team who will be at Belladrum from 30 July until 1 August. Or come and have a blether with them at the Black Isle Show on 6 August at the Trade Stands.
If you are in Inverness on 10 August, come and meet the Fostering Team at the Vision 29 Free Family Fun Day at the Northern Meeting Park between 10:30am and 1:30pm.
They will be happy to answer your questions on how you might become a foster carer and help support a child in Highland to thrive.
Cllr David Fraser, Chair of The Highland Council’s Health, Social Care and Wellbeing Committee, said: “Fostering provides vital care and support for children and young people and plays a crucial role in communities across Highland. Local foster carers help children stay close to their schools, friends and support networks, providing the stability and continuity they need to thrive.
“Highland’s children need more foster carers, and I encourage anyone who has ever considered fostering to come and speak to our team at Belladrum, the Black Isle Show or Vision 29 event. A conversation could be the first step towards making a life-changing difference for a local child.”

If you are 21 or older and have an extra room at home and are interested in fostering, talk to our staff and find out if you can help.
As a foster carer, you can: provide care, stability and support; help children recover and thrive; and make a lasting difference.
To achieve this, you would be given full training and support; and financial allowances.
