The Inverness Events and Festivals Working Group is delighted to confirm that Highland Council's free Civic Bonfire and Fireworks Display will take place at Bught Park on Thursday 5 November 2026.
The evening will start at 5pm with the opening of the catering village. The bonfire will then be lit at 6pm, followed by a spectacular fireworks display at 7pm.
In anticipation of the event, Provost of Inverness and Area, Glynis Campbell Sinclair, said: "We're delighted to once again bring Inverness' free community bonfire and fireworks display to Bught Park. This much-loved event is a highlight of the city's calendar and offers people of all ages the opportunity to come together and enjoy a fantastic evening in a safe and welcoming environment.
"Thanks to support from the Inverness Common Good Fund, the event remains free to attend and we're looking forward to welcoming the many thousands of residents and visitors who join us each year.
"As we prepare for bonfire night, we would encourage everyone to enjoy the celebrations safely by attending organised displays. We hope everyone who comes along has a memorable evening and enjoys another spectacular show."
Constructed by The Highland Council, the bonfire is one of the largest in Scotland and is made possible through donations of hundreds of pallets from the local business community.
The musical fireworks display will be staged by the award winning Fireworx Scotland team and will start at approximately 7pm.
Pedestrians are asked to note that the Infirmary Bridge will be closed on bonfire night. The Infirmary Bridge is routinely closed during events for public safety and to protect the structure from excessive crowd loading. Alternative routes should be used to reach the event at Bught Park.
Additionally, drivers are reminded that parking restrictions will be in place around the Bught area on 5 November 2026, with priority access maintained for the emergency services, disabled drivers, and local residents throughout the night.
A disabled parking area for Blue Badge holders will be located at the city centre end of the grandstand at Bught Park and drivers are asked to enter by the entrance close to the junction of Torvean Avenue and Dunachton Road.
All other drivers are asked to use the car parking spaces available in the city centre and to park considerately if choosing to leave their vehicle elsewhere.
With many thousands of spectators expected to attend, families are encouraged to set off early, park away from the site where possible and enjoy the walk to Bught Park.
Please dress appropriately for the weather when attending the event, ensuring you wear warm clothing and have suitable footwear for walking on uneven ground. Visitors to the site are requested to stay within the areas marked for safe viewing and to follow the instructions of the announcer and stewards on site.
