How we plan to improve accessibility on www.highland.gov.uk

All work listed below will be undertaken over the next 12 months.

Mark navigation as lists	Ensured that any <li> elements were contained by <ul> or <ol> elements	November 2021
Ensure controls change appearance when selected with the keyboard	Added :focus attributes to all form elements on the website.	November 2021
Manual checks using screen reader software	Manual checks were undertaken using JAWS and ORCA to evaluate how effectively the screen reader could access the content	November 2021
Announcement banner contrast	Changed background color from #d9ab24 to #ffcc00 and changed accent colours from white to black	October 2021
