CC6 - Application for adoption

Provide 1 paper copy and 1 electronic copy (in agreed CAD format, preferably AutoCAD® .dwg) of all plans:

  • plans showing the extent of the adopted road in colour, including verges, footpaths, and cycleways. Note: Plan must use an Ordnance Survey background.
  • all as-built plans showing:
    • carriageways, footways, footpaths, cycleways, service strips, and surface water drainage
    • all SuDS features and details of future maintenance responsibilities (Roads Authority, Scottish Water and developer)
  • as-built plans of services showing things like location, road crossings and ducts in relation to fixed road features
  • CCTV survey of the surface water drainage system
  • Road Safety Audit

How to submit

Use the Post Submission Additional Documents form on the ePlanning Portal, quoting your RCC reference number (example: 17/00001/RCC).

You must also post paper copies and electronic CAD files (on disc) to the eProcessing team.

If you cannot submit via the portal, you may post a paper copy of the completed form to the eProcessing team.

If you have already submitted these documents within the last 28 days as part of a Road Construction Consent process, you can refer to them in Table B. However, you must ensure 1 paper copy and 1 electronic copy of each drawing have been provided, or your adoption application will be rejected.

Guidance for inspections

If a further inspection of completed works is required before adoption the:

  • developer may suggest dates for the inspection
  • final date will be decided by Area Roads staff and may differ from suggested dates

Guidance for road descriptions

Your road description should include:

  • the extent of the road
