How to enrol
Only children who turn 5 between 1 March 2025 and the last day of February 2026 are automatically able to enrol into Primary 1 in August 2025.
If your child turns 5 on or before 28 February 2026, they can start Primary 1 in the 2025 to 2026 school year.
You can also request a paper copy of the enrolment form from your catchment school during enrolment week.
Gaelic Medium Education
We support equal respect for English and Gaelic. Both languages are an important part of life in the Highlands.
When enrolling your child, you can choose between English Medium or Gaelic Medium Education.

Early Learning and Childcare
Children born between 1 March 2021 and 28 February 2023 are entitled to a funded Early Learning and Childcare place.
For Early Learning and Childcare places, enrolment week commence Monday 10 February and concluded on Friday 4 February 2025.
