The Military Liaison Group (Education)
We work with partners to make sure children and young people from Armed Forces families thrive in Highland. This includes families with someone who is:
- currently serving
- a reservist
- a veteran
We aim to make sure no child is disadvantaged in their education because of their military background.
How we can help
If you are from an Armed Forces family, we can help you:
- understand how the Scottish education system works
- learn about school year groups
- enrol your child in a school or early learning and childcare setting
- manage communication during deployment or training
- get the right information quickly
- speak to the right person or service for advice
Support for young people
If you are a young person from an Armed Forces family, we can give you information about:
- your rights
- mental health and wellbeing
- moving schools
- leaving school
We can also help you find someone to talk to if you need advice or support.
