Sheep scab

Sheep scab is a contagious skin disease caused by a parasitic mite. It can cause severe irritation, distress and, if untreated, death.

Sheep scab can look similar to other conditions, like lice or mycotic dermatitis. Always get a veterinary diagnosis before treating.

You must report suspected or confirmed cases to the Animal and Plant Health Agency (APHA)
