The bus gate is a direct link between Raigmore Hospital and the Raigmore housing estate.
It is only for:
- Buses
- Emergency vehicles
Why was it introduced
- To improve the reliability of public transport in the area
- To reduce traffic at the main hospital entrance onto the B9006 and Inshes corridor
- To support sustainable travel as part of new development in the area
This improvement has been a long-term goal shared by local stakeholders and transport partners.
