Climate change as a corporate risk
Climate change is now listed on the Council’s Corporate Risk Register.
Council services supporting resilience
We have teams that support individuals, communities and businesses during extreme events, including:
- emergency planners and resilience officers
- roads officers
- ward managers
- amenity service teams
Highland Adapts partnership
We are an active partner in Highland Adapts, a regional initiative bringing together:
- communities
- businesses
- land managers
- public sector organisations
The goal is to enable transformational action and build a climate-ready Highland.
Corporate Adaptation Strategy and Action Plan
We are developing a strategy and action plan using Adaptation Scotland’s Capability Framework for the public sector. The Climate Change and Energy team is working with council officers and members to create a plan with resilience at its core.
