Getting involved
Community councils usually include between 7 and 13 elected members.
They can also appoint:
- co‑opted members up to the maximum permitted membership
- youth members (16–18) with full voting rights except when co‑opting
- associate members with specialist knowledge (non‑voting)
Anyone aged 16 or over, living within the community council area and registered to vote there, can stand for election or vote.
