How we choose who gets a home
We use a points system to decide who gets offered a home. This helps us ensure that homes are allocated to those with the greatest need.
When a home becomes available, the landlord creates a shortlist of people from the Highland Housing Register. If you are not on the Highland Housing Register, you will need to apply for a house with us.
Your position on the list depends on:
- how many points you have
- how well the home matches your needs
- whether you have chosen that area as a place you want to live
Shortlists are updated frequently, and your position may change as new applications are received.
Who gets the offer
The home is offered to the person who:
- has the most housing need based on points
- matches the size and type of home
- has chosen that area as a place they want to live
