What the pensions committee and board does
The Pensions Committee exercises all powers and duties of the council in relation to its role as the administering authority of the Highland Council Pension Fund. This excludes any powers specifically delegated to another committee or officer.

What the Pensions Board does
The Pensions Board considers any matters related to pensions that are relevant to the activities of the Pensions Committee. This includes:
- reports produced for the committee
- the fund’s annual report
- external engagement provisions
- the fund’s performance and administration
- actuarial reports and valuations
- the funding strategy
At its meeting on 24 September 2015, the board agreed to adopt the terms of its constitution.
