Submitting a notice of review

If you want to lodge a notice of review for determination by the review body, this must be lodged within 3 months of the date of the decision notice. For a decision notice dated 20 May 2025, the last date for lodging a notice of review would be 19 August 2025.

Reviews against non-determination must be lodged within 3 months of the expiry of the two-month period allowed for determining the application or any extended date agreed in writing between the applicant and the planning authority.

On 9 June 2025, the Scottish Government introduced fees for reviews and appeals. Notices of review or planning appeals must now include full payment of the applicable fee before the deadline to submit the review or appeal. Fees increased on 1 April 2026, and all submissions on or after this date are subject to the new scale of fees:
