Project complete - the Soldiers Bridge re-opened to the public in August 2018, following the completion of a £560,000 renovation. The two-year project was delivered by Highland Council with funding from Transport Scotland through Sustrans Scotland's National Cycle Network Development Fund.

The works saw the replacement of the bridge deck and handrails as well as the northern and southern ramps. The improvements mean the bridge is now fully accessible to all users and creates a key link between the active travel routes provided by Caol and Lochyside Flood Protection Scheme and the Black Parks.
