Masterplanning and feasibility
- LDN Architects developed the project masterplan, identifying development opportunities across the site
- the masterplan includes proposals for:
- an international-standard visitor attraction
- museum and gallery spaces
- public areas
- potential for private commercial development
Market and financial studies
- Leisure Development Partners (LDP) completed a market and feasibility study for leisure and entertainment uses
- Scottish Futures Trust (SFT) prepared an outline financial feasibility report and is carrying out further market testing
- Scottish Development International (SDI) is exploring hotel sector opportunities
Design and delivery
- in May 2019, LDN Architects were appointed to lead the next stage of architectural design
- Creative Services (Scotland) were appointed to lead on creative design
- the first phase of the project is dependent on the Scottish Courts and Tribunals Service relocating to the new Justice Centre by mid-2020
