River Thurso Flood Protection Study
Within the Highland and Argyll Local Flood Risk Management Plans there is an action for us to carry out a Flood Protection Study (FPS) for the River Thurso.
Consultants AECOM carried out detailed hydraulic modelling of the flood mechanisms that occur on the river and developed a prefered option for alleviating flood risk. The preferred option consists of flood defence walls and an embankment.
Subject to Scottish Government funding and the outcome of national prioritisation of flood protection schemes, we should progress with the detailed design for the scheme.
