Mental health and wellbeing

Mental health is about how we think, feel, and respond to life. It affects how we see ourselves, relate to others, and handle everyday challenges. Good mental health helps us enjoy life and cope with stress, change, and uncertainty.

Our Health and Safety team plays a key role in supporting the wellbeing of all employees. Their responsibilities include:

  • ensuring the Council meets its legal duties for the health, safety, and welfare of staff and others affected by our work
  • developing and maintaining health and safety policies, procedures, and standards
  • monitoring workplaces and investigating accidents, incidents, and work-related ill-health
  • delivering health and safety training
  • promoting occupational health across the organisation
