Sign in on a personal device - using your work account

You can sign in on a personal device using your work Microsoft login details - your work username, rather than your work email address.

For added security, you will need to set up Microsoft Authenticator on your device.

You only need to complete steps 1 to 4 once. Step 5 is required each time you log in.

Step 1: Go to MyView

  1. Visit the MyView login page
  2. Enter your Payroll ID and password

Step 2: Follow the on-screen instructions

You will be prompted to set up Multi Factor Authentication (MFA).

Step 3: Set up the Microsoft Authenticator app

There are two ways to set up the app - choose to scan a QR code if you have two devices, or enter a code manually if you only have one device.

Option 1: Scan a QR code

Follow these steps if you have two devices, such as a laptop and mobile, and are able to scan a QR code.

  1. Open the Microsoft Authenticator app on your phone
  2. Tap the + icon and choose Other account (Google, Facebook, etc.)
  3. Scan the QR code shown on the MyView screen
  4. A new account called HG will be created, showing your name as held in the payroll system

Option 2: Enter a code manually

Follow these steps if you only have one device.

  1. Click Show manual entry code on the MyView screen
  2. In the Authenticator app, tap the '+' icon and choose Other account (Google, Facebook, etc.)
  3. Tap Enter code manually
  4. Enter hg@highland.gov.uk as the account name
  5. Paste the manual entry code into the Secret key field
  6. Tap Finish to create the HG account

Step 4: Enter the 6-digit code

  1. Tap the HG account in the app to generate a 6-digit code
  2. Enter this code in MyView to complete the setup

Step 5: Use the app each time you log in

Each time you log in, open the app and enter the 6-digit code from the HG account
