Before you report
Before reporting an abandoned vehicle, carry out the relevant checks.
Check if the vehicle is untaxed
If the vehicle is untaxed or registered as off the road and is on a public road, you can report it to the DVLA.
Report dangerous vehicles
If a vehicle is dangerous or blocking an area, report it to Police Scotland by calling 101.
Consult neighbours
Ask neighbours or nearby businesses if they know who owns the vehicle.
Check with the landowner
If the landowner has given permission for the vehicle to be stored there, it is not abandoned.
Illegally parked vehicles
If a vehicle is parked illegally, report it to our parking enforcement team.
