Tenant participation
Annual Assurance Statement
The Annual Assurance Statement 2025 has been submitted to the Scottish Housing Regulator having been agreed by the Chair & Vice Chair of the Housing and Property committee and scrutinised by our Interested Tenants. The Annual Assurnance Statement focused on the key themes of statutory requirements, legislation, charter performance, customer satisfaction and engagement.
The statement is a regulatory requirement monitored by the Scottish Housing Regulator which covers how social housing providers are regulated and their reporting requirements.
Our 2025 Statement confirms we has achieved compliance with legislative duties and how it delivers essential services to our tenants. It also emphasises the importance we place on effective tenant participation.
The statement shows that there were no breaches requiring Health & Safety Executive (HSE) intervention occurred in 2024/25. However, an Improvement Notice was issues in Februray 2025 regarding asbestos management in communal areas. This was fully resolved by April 2025 following independant surveys and the implementation of a new management plan.
We also comply with the Gas Safety Advice recommendations issued by the Scottish Housing Regulator to all social landlords with 100% compliance in 2024/25.
Full compliance for fire and smoke alarms was achieved in October 2023.
As a result of the Covid-19 work restrictions, the five yearly electrical inspections regime in Highland is behind schedule. Contracts have been agreed to reach compliance by March 2026.
Chair of the Housing and Property Committee, Cllr Glynis Campbell Sinclair, provided information on the remit of the Committee in scrutinising our housing performance when representatives from the Scottish Housing Regulator liaised with us earlier this year.
Cllr Sinclair said, “We very much welcome our ongoing engagement with the Scottish Housing Regulator. Our Assurance Statement will provide them with a helpful insight into the processes we follow and the priority we have on tenant safety and rent affordability".
The Assurance Statement has now been submitted to the Scottish Housing Regulator.
