A Special Meeting of the City of Inverness Area Committee will take place in the Council Chamber, Council Headquarters, Glenurquhart Road, Inverness on Thursday, 25 June 2015 at 2.00pm (or following the Highland Council meeting – whichever is the later).

Webcast Notice: This meeting will be filmed and broadcast over the Internet on the Highland Council website and will be archived and available for viewing for 12 months thereafter.

3.  Provost and Leader of Inverness and Area

Nominations were sought at the meeting for the position of Provost and Leader of Inverness and Area.

In this regard, Mrs M Davidson, seconded by Mr J Crawford, nominated Mrs H Carmichael.

Mr F Parr, seconded by Mr A Christie, nominated Mrs B McAllister.

On a vote being taken between the two candidates, Mrs H Carmichael received 12 votes and Mrs B McAllister received 6 votes, with 2 abstentions, the votes having been cast as follows:-

The Committee therefore AGREED to appoint Mrs H Carmichael to the position of Provost and Leader of Inverness and Area.
