Inverness residents have until 2 April to reply to a common good consultation.
Inverness residents are reminded that they have until 2 April to respond to a statutory Community Empowerment (Scotland) Act 2015 consultation with regards to a change of use proposal affecting common good property in Inverness.
The area of land subject to the consultation is located at Stadium Road in Inverness, adjacent to the Inverness Caledonian Thistle Football Club ground.
The property is currently leased however it remains undeveloped. The tenant is seeking to assign the remainder of the lease to a new occupier and to broaden the permitted uses of land so that it may be further developed. This would bring the permitted uses of the property into line with other common good land leases within the Longman Industrial Estate. While longer-term development options for the site continue to be considered, the property is expected to be used initially as laydown space for storage purposes.
The Council is keen to hear from Inverness residents regarding the change of use proposal. All submissions will be given full regard before a decision is taken. Should the Council decide to support the request following the consultation, it must apply to the Sheriff Court to obtain the necessary consent. The consultation representations and responses including the final decision will be published on the Council’s website.
The consultation document and information on the process to dispose or change the use of common good property is available on the Council’s website.
