Planning and funding your upgrade
When planning your project, think about:
- equipment and surfacing
- fencing, bins, benches and signs
- post-installation inspection costs
- community engagement
- long-term maintenance
Some surfacing options need more upkeep than others. For example:
- play bark needs regular top-ups
- grass matting is more sustainable and needs less maintenance
Support with funding
The Council can support more local communities by signposting them to funding opportunities and advising them on suitable equipment choices, site layout and inclusive provisions. The Council will also monitor equipment installations where required. You may be able to get funding support from:
- local Councillors through ward discretionary funds
- local wind farm funds (depending on location)
- other sources of external funding
