Check for land contamination
We provide environmental information to consultants for site-specific enquiries.
The following checks are carried out as standard:
- a review of site information held in our database for the subject site and a buffer area surrounding the site
- review of historical maps of the subject site and buffer area surrounding the site for potentially contaminative commercial or industrial processes
- review of Trading Standards records for details of Petroleum License information for the site, which often includes plans and details of the volume and location of underground tanks, plans can be scanned and provided digitally
- review of Environmental Health service information for details of nuisance complaints and private water supplies within the vicinity of the site
- other information as requested, for instance, details of radon risk, or an opinion on whether a site investigation would be required, should a planning application be submitted
Copies of reports held digitally can be provided on request if they were submitted to us as part of a public process, such as a Planning Application.
This check will highlight any sites identified as Contaminated Land (as defined by Part IIA of the Environmental Protection Act 1990).
Be aware of the copyright within any reports.
