How we deliver our plans
We plan to deliver our development projects according to the approach outlined below.
Delivery Programme
The Delivery Programme details the timescales and actions required for the development and infrastructure projects within each of our local development plans.
Our previous three Delivery Programmes have been combined into a single, comprehensive Delivery Programme for all of Highland. It is organised into three colour-coded sections reflecting the existing area plans:
- Inner Moray Firth (IMFLDP2)
- Caithness and Sutherland (CAS Plan)
- West Highland and Islands (WEST Plan)
The Delivery Programme aligns with our latest Housing Land Audit, which forecasts the timing of new housing developments. It also takes into account School Roll Forecasts, outlining expected changes in pupil numbers for primary and secondary schools across Highland.
Deliverable Housing Land Pipeline
The Delivery Programme informed the preparation of the Highland Deliverable Housing Land Pipeline 31 March 2025. Currently, this provides a detailed assessment of the deliverability of sites with a remaining capacity of 25 or more homes for 2025.
Fort William 2040
Fort William 2040 (FW2040) is an ongoing initiative to develop and refine a shared vision for the future of Fort William and Lochaber. It is a key component of the WestPlan section in the Delivery Programme.
