Register your interest in a self-build home
We are required to prepare and maintain a list of anyone interested in acquiring land for self-build across our area.
By registering, you will help us find out more about the demand for self-build plots across Highland, where people would like their plot to be and the type of house that they would like to build.
We will use the information to develop planning policy and guidance for Highland and to explore ways in which it might be possible for people and plots to be brought together. Registration does not guarantee that a suitable plot will be identified or become available.

Self-build Loan Fund
The Scottish Government has provided a time-limited fund to assist self or custom builders to finance the construction period for their new home.
This is provided through the Communities Housing Trust.
Discounted self-build plots
The Communities Housing Trust also provide discounted self-build plots to support affordable housing in remote and rural communities, including the Highlands.
