Apply for a High Hedge Notice
The hedge must be all of these:
- Made up of 2 or more trees or shrubs rising to a height of 2 metres off the ground
- Cutting out light into your home
You must have complied with all requirements outlined in our high hedge guidance and pre-application requirements and The Scottish Government's high hedge guidance.
Fees for this service
There is a fee of £650 to process your application.
Payment should be made with your application using our Planning and building standards payment form.

- If your application is invalid or you withdraw it before our assessment begins, you will get a full refund
- If your application is withdrawn after our assessment begins, there will be no refund
- If your application is dismissed by us you will get a 50% refund
