Merchant discounts for renovation
If you are renovating an empty home, you may be eligible for discounts on building materials, fittings and services. The Scottish Empty Homes Partnership has secured offers from suppliers to help reduce costs for owners bringing properties back into use.
What is the Merchant Discount Scheme?
The scheme provides:
- standardised discounts across participating branches
- access to trade prices for eligible owners
- support with sourcing renovation materials and services

How to access discounts
To access the scheme:
- Contact the Empty Homes Service Email: emptyhomes@highland.gov.uk
- Provide details of your property and renovation plans
- Specify which merchant branch you wish to use
You may receive:
- a letter to present at the merchant
- a trade discount card (if available)
What products are included?
Discounts may apply to:
- building materials (e.g. bricks, cement, timber)
- kitchens and bathrooms
- insulation and damp-proofing
- flooring and tiles
- doors, windows and ironmongery
- decorating supplies
- plumbing and heating components
- surveys and schedules of work
- auction and pre-purchase renovation services
