Public engagement and consultation
The Highland 20mph programme has been presented at the following Economy and Infrastructure committees:
Following an assessment of 211 settlements across the Highlands with existing 30mph speed limits, 127 settlements now have permanent 20mph Speed Limits.
As required under statutory legislation, all statutory, emergency services and wider public were consulted prior to the final order being made.
The final Traffic Regulation Order reflects the outcome of a comprehensive process, including technical assessments of proposed roads, input from Elected Members and Community Councils, and feedback received from the public during the consultation period.
