Before starting work

Before beginning any work, you must receive official permission from us. Ensure you:

  • read the guidance notes carefully before applying
  • do not start work until your permit has been approved

What the permit covers

This permit applies to the following types of work:

  • builders' skips
  • mobile cranes
  • elevating platforms
  • scaffolding or staging (including mobile scaffolding)

Insurance requirements

The equipment owner must hold Public Liability Insurance of at least £5 million, which must:

  • be available for inspection
  • indemnify The Highland Council against any claims related to the equipment’s presence

Charges

All charges are invoiced - we do not accept cheques or cash.
