Examples of emergency issues include:
- bridge or other structure collapse
- vehicle strikes to a bridge, retaining wall or culvert headwall
- fallen power or telephone lines
- flooding on high-speed roads or locations where there are safety issues
- flooding where there is a risk to property
- fuel spillage on major routes and high-traffic urban roads
- gully or manhole cover missing or damaged
- road debris, for example, rock or other significant hazard
- rockfall or landslips
- subsidence
- tree or branches down
- damaged or fallen signs obstructing the carrigeway, footway or cycleway
- damaged signs or bollards likely to cause injury to pedestrians or other road users
- damaged or fallen barriers obstructing the carrigeway, footway or cycleway
