Tourism is a vital part of the Highland economy. The Council helps create the conditions needed for a successful and sustainable visitor sector.
Our work is guided by the Council’s Sustainable Tourism Strategy 2024 to 2030. It is also aligned with the Strategic Tourism Infrastructure Development Plan.
We work with communities, businesses and national partners to:
- plan for growth in visitor numbers
- manage visitor pressures
- support, maintain and improve local facilities, services and infrastructure
