Responsibilities for business

The Consumer Rights Act 2015 sets out what you must do when selling goods, services or digital content to consumers.

Key responsibilities

  • You must offer a full refund within 30 days if goods are faulty
  • You only get one chance to repair or replace faulty goods
  • Any claims or promises made during discussions with a customer are legally binding
  • Digital content must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described
