Your rights as a consumer
The Consumer Rights Act 2015 gives you clear rights when you buy goods, services or digital content. It helps protect you if something goes wrong.
What the law covers
You are protected when you buy:
- Goods - like clothes, electronics or furniture
- Services - like home improvements or car repairs
- Digital content - like apps, games, music or eBooks
Key rights you have
- You have 30 days to reject faulty goods and get a full refund
- If you ask for a repair or replacement, the business only has one attempt to fix the issue
- Promises made by a business during discussions (for example, about a service) are legally binding
- Digital content must work as described. If it does not, you may be entitled to a repair, replacement or refund
