Asbestos
Some homes, especially those built between the 1960s and 1980s, may contain asbestos. It was used in materials like insulation boards, pipe lagging, storage heaters and corrugated roofing.
Asbestos is only a risk if it is damaged or disturbed. If fibres are released into the air, they can be harmful when breathed in.
