Fees and costs
The cost depends on the type and value of the work.
From 1 April 2026:
- £870 if the work was done before May 2005 and is valued under £40,000
- £500 if you are applying for a letter of comfort for an expired warrant issued under the former building acts
- if the work is valued over £40,000, a higher fee will apply based on the national building warrant fee scale
