Family Teams
In Highland, social workers support vulnerable children, families, and adults by assessing needs, developing care plans, protecting individuals from harm, and connecting them with resources to promote their wellbeing and independent living. Their role includes safeguarding children, providing support for those with disabilities, offering assistance to unpaid carers, and working within the community to empower individuals and foster positive outcomes.
Family Teams combine expertise from social work and health, working closely with schools, within their Associated School Groups (ASGs) to provide early intervention and support for children and families. Their focus is on collaboration, inclusion, and preventing issues from escalating, with services tailored for children with disabilities and those involved in offending.
If you feel that a child is in danger, or needs urgent assistance, contact the emergency social work service.
