Eligibility for additional funding

To qualify for extra funding to cover the cost of improvements, you must meet the criteria in at least one of the following four sections.

Section 1: You receive one of these benefits

  • Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance (JSA)
  • Income-based Employment and Support Allowance (ESA)
  • Income Support (IS)
  • Disability Living Allowance (DLA)
  • Personal Independence Payment (PIP)
  • Industrial Injuries Disablement Benefit
  • War Pensions Mobility Supplement
  • Council Tax Reduction (not including single occupancy discount)
  • Attendance Allowance
  • Carer’s Allowance
  • Housing Benefit
  • Pension Guarantee Credit
  • Working Tax Credit (WTC)
  • Child Tax Credit (CTC)
  • Universal Credit (UC)
  • Support for Mortgage Interest

Section 2: Your household income is low

You qualify if your:

  • gross annual income is less than £31,000
    (includes all income and benefits)
  • net income after housing costs is below the following thresholds:

Section 3: Your fuel costs are high

You qualify if more than 20% of your net income is spent on fuel.
