Education Maintenance Allowance
Description
We are legally obliged under the Education Maintenance Allowances (Scotland) Regulations 2007 to provide financial support to 16 to 19 year olds from low income households. This applies to students under voluntary provision, including activity agreements or those who are home educated. 
 
We must process personal data to fulfil this legal obligation.
If you do not give us your information
If you dont provide personal data we will be unable to process your application.
Conditions for processing personal information

Legal obligation. we are legally obliged to process this data. (A6(1)(c) of GDPR)
Special categories of data in relation to benefit applications are processed under Employment, social security and social protection law (A9(2)(b) of GDPR).
