Statutory Consultation Exercises in Relation to Changes to Schools - Privacy notices

Purpose
To ensure the involvement of local communities in proposed changes to schools
Description

Certain proposals for changes to schools are subject to statutory consultation exercises, in the course of which the Council will collect personal data from respondents.

Responses are included within Council Committee papers, which are published on the Highland Council website.  If you do not wish your response to be made publicly available, you should clearly write on the document: “I wish my response to be considered as confidential with access restricted to Councillors and Council Officers of Highland Council”.

If you do not give us your information

The relevant legislation requires the Council to respond to those who submit written responses to the consultation exercise.  An anonymous response would leave us unable to comply with this requirement, and for that reason could not be accepted.

Conditions for processing personal information

Public Task - Article 6(1)(e), the council processes this data for the purposes of providing a public task. We need to process this personal information to fulfil our obligations under the Schools (Consultation) (Scotland) Act 2010.
